Until end of September 2024 he was senior advisor of the Minister of Interior and until end of April 2024 he was a member of the cabinet of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria.
Between November 2012 and November 2022, Krum held the office of Executive Director of the European Agency for operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice (eu-LISA), promoting digital transformation as a key success factor for integrated border management and law enforcement cooperation in the EU.
Prior to eu-LISA, Krum Garkov was the Operations Director of Experian Group Ltd., a leading global provider of information services for the financial industry. He was previously a program manager at Hewlett-Packard. He also worked in the National Revenue Agency of Bulgaria as CIO, as well as in the Centre for Mass Privatization in Bulgaria as Deputy Executive Director.
Krum Garkov has a master's degree in Computer Technology, an MBA in Information Technology and an Executive MBA from the London School of Business & Finance specializing in Management Consulting.
